Eurico de Aguiar Salles Airport (often referred to simply as Vitória Airport) is the principal airport of Espírito Santo state in southeastern Brazil, serving the state capital Vitória and the surrounding Greater Vitória metropolitan area of roughly two million people. Located in the Goiabeiras district just 4 mi (6 km) north of central Vitória at 34 ft (10 m) elevation on the Atlantic coast, the airport is named after a former governor of Espírito Santo and was fully rebuilt with a new terminal and extended runway opened in 2018 — more than two decades after construction began and then stalled repeatedly. The 2018 inauguration materially modernized the passenger experience and allowed Vitória to take on a larger slice of southeastern-Brazil domestic traffic. The airport handles 12 routes across 8 destinations through 3 airlines. LATAM Brasil, GOL, and Azul anchor the domestic network with dominant flows to São Paulo (Guarulhos and Congonhas), Rio de Janeiro (Galeão and Santos Dumont), Belo Horizonte (Confins), Brasília, and Campinas. The route pattern concentrates heavily on the major southeastern-Brazil hubs, reflecting Vitória's role as a business-travel feeder for the Vale iron-ore and steel industry headquartered in the state, as well as the offshore oil-and-gas operations in the Campos and Espírito Santo basins that generate heavy corporate-commuter traffic. The principal runway 02/20 measures 6,752 ft (2,058 m), with a secondary crosswind runway 06/24 of 5,742 ft (1,750 m). The 2018 terminal was designed to handle approximately 8.4 million annual passengers and is one of the few modern Brazilian regional airport terminals that meets full international design standards. The airport is operated by Zurich Airport Brazil under a concession from ANAC (the Brazilian civil aviation regulator). Espírito Santo's mixed economy of mining exports, cruise-ship tourism, and regional business travel produces a relatively stable year-round traffic profile.

Getting to the airport

Ground transport options from Vitória

Public transportation

The Transcol public bus system serves the airport with stops directly outside the terminal, providing connections to major bus terminals including Terminal de Carapina and across the Greater Vitória region (Vitória, Vila Velha, Serra, Cariacica). Fares are economical and payable via the local Bilhete Único card or cash on board.

Taxis & rideshare

Accredited airport taxis wait at a stand outside the arrivals terminal with fixed or metered fares depending on the operator. Ride-hailing services Uber and 99 are widely used and generally offer lower pricing than traditional taxis, with designated pickup areas at the terminal.

Rental cars

Major Brazilian and international rental brands including Localiza, Movida, Unidas, Avis, and Hertz maintain service desks inside the passenger terminal. Advance online booking is recommended, particularly during Brazilian school-holiday and Carnival periods when demand surges.
