Getting to the airport
Ground transport options from Dalian (Ganjingzi)
Public transportation
Dalian Metro Line 2 has a station (Zhoushuizi Airport Station) directly connected to the terminal building, providing fast service to Dalian Railway Station, Qingniwaqiao, and Zhongshan Square in 25–35 minutes for CNY 4–6. Trains run every 6–10 minutes from 06:00 to 23:00. Airport shuttle buses depart from the arrivals-hall counter with routes to Dalian Railway Station, Kaifaqu (the Dalian Economic Development Zone), Jinzhou, and nearby cities Yingkou and Dandong; fares range CNY 15–60.
Taxis & rideshare
Metered taxis queue 24/7 at the official stand outside arrivals. Typical trips run CNY 40–60 to Zhongshan Square / central Dalian (20–30 min), CNY 80–120 to Kaifaqu (40–50 min), and CNY 150–200 to Lushun (60 min). A 50% night surcharge applies 23:00–05:00. Didi Chuxing is the dominant ride-hailing option with designated app-based pickup. Drivers rarely speak English; having the destination written in Chinese is recommended.
Rental cars
China Auto Rental (CAR Inc.), eHi Car Services, and Shenzhou Zuche operate counters in the arrivals hall. Foreign visitors must hold a valid Chinese driver's license — an International Driving Permit alone is not recognized in mainland China. Most international travelers opt for chauffeur-driven service (带司机司机) through the same providers or via hotel desks. Chauffeur-driven sedans typically run CNY 800–1,200 for an 8-hour city day.
