Getting to the airport
Ground transport options from Guilin (Lingui)
Public transportation
Dedicated airport shuttle coaches operate as the backbone of public transit: Line 1 runs every 15 minutes to the Civil Aviation Hotel and Guilin Railway Station for about 20 CNY; Line 2 serves Guilin North Railway Station; and dedicated direct coaches depart for Yangshuo (about 90 CNY) and Longsheng. Tickets are sold at a clearly signed counter in the arrivals hall. There is no city bus or metro at the terminal, and the regional high-speed rail network is accessed via the shuttle-linked stations in town.
Taxis & rideshare
Official metered taxis queue at a marked rank directly outside arrivals and operate 24/7. A ride to central Guilin is typically 100 to 120 CNY and takes 40 to 60 minutes; Yangshuo is roughly 260 CNY. Drivers rarely speak English, so having the destination written in Chinese characters is strongly recommended. The Didi Chuxing ride-hailing app accepts Alipay and WeChat Pay and is the easiest way to summon a private car; WeChat-based official airport car services are also available.
Rental cars
China Auto Rental (CAR Inc.) and eHi operate counters in the arrivals hall, with a handful of local providers also represented. Rentals are practical only for drivers who already hold a Chinese driver's license or a short-term temporary license issued at the airport's traffic desk, since International Driving Permits alone are not recognized in mainland China. Chauffeur-driven day hires to Longji and Xingping are the more common option for foreign visitors and can be booked through the same counters.
