Getting to the airport
Ground transport options from Wenzhou (Longwan)
Public transportation
Wenzhou Rail Transit Line S1 has Longwan International Airport Station (龙湾国际机场站) directly integrated with the terminal building, offering fast service to Wenzhou South Railway Station (high-speed rail hub) and onward to downtown destinations in 30–45 minutes for CNY 5–9. Trains run every 8–12 minutes from 06:30 to 22:30. Multiple airport shuttle bus lines depart from the arrivals-hall counter to downtown Wenzhou, Yueqing, Ruian, and other regional cities; fares range CNY 20–60. Standard urban city buses provide the lowest-cost but slowest option.
Taxis & rideshare
Metered taxis queue 24/7 at the official stand outside the arrivals hall. Typical trips run CNY 80–120 to downtown Wenzhou (30–45 min), CNY 150–200 to Yueqing (50 min), and CNY 200–280 to Ruian (70 min). A 50% surcharge applies 23:00–05:00. Didi Chuxing is widely used as an app-based alternative with designated pickup zones and similar pricing. Drivers rarely speak English; having the destination written in Chinese characters is strongly advised.
Rental cars
China Auto Rental (CAR Inc.), eHi Car Services, and Avis operate counters in the arrivals hall. Foreign visitors must hold a valid Chinese driver's license — an International Driving Permit alone is not recognized in mainland China. Chauffeur-driven vehicles through the same operators or via hotel desks remain the practical option for most international travelers, typically running CNY 700–1,000 for an 8-hour city day.
